The Global Cyber Alliance (GCA), a non-profit organisation aimed at tackling the cyber threat set up by the New York County District Attorney, City of London Police and the Center for Internet Security, has identified the top four risks to the online world. 

At a joint meeting held on Wednesday, 17 May at London’s Guildhall, New York County District Attorney Cy Vance, Commissioner Ian Dyson and CEO of the GCA, Phil Reitinger spoke to businesses to update them on their work identifying the biggest cyber threats and the measures being developed to tackle them.

Interesting story in the FT today about IEX and its application to become a fully-fledged exchange. At issue is IEX’s so-called ’speed bump’ that will slow down the HFT ‘boy racers’ and so make markets safer again. Naysayers claim that the inclusion of a speed bump is contrary to the rule that investors should have “immediate” access to the best liquidity. The SEC counters that anything that is sub-millisecond (such as in this case) is, in effect, “immediate”.
