This Earth Day, Computop and more than 400 other tech companies are launching a joint campaign: Time for Climate Action. Participating companies are taking climate action upon themselves and encouraging their customers and partners to follow their lead. The aim is to engage with more than 100 million people and trigger millions of meaningful and measurable actions for the planet. The campaign takes place between 19-24th of April.

 Computop’s Time for Climate action

This year, Computop's employee climate group, ‘Green Payment People’ are taking part in Time for Climate Action Week for the second time. Since forming last year as a result of TFCA Week 2021, they have initiated multiple environmental and climate protection projects. The Green Payment People meet regularly to discuss what else Computop can do, and at their instigation, many of the Payment People now ride a work bike to the office, will soon have their lunch delivered sustainably packaged and will also be able to use electric company cars in the future.

The projects of the Green Payment People show that environmental and climate protection should not be limited to one week but play an important role throughout the year. The objective of TFCA Week is to start the process for all participants to become more active in order to preserve an environment worth living in for future generations.

For the 2022 campaign, Leaders For Climate Action and its partners call upon everyone - organisations, governments, and individuals - to join in for the benefit of the planet. They say that ‘great acts are made up of small deeds’ and ask for contributions either by visiting the campaign page and acting now, or by becoming part of the movement and inspiring others.
