Apriva Provides Chip And Pin Cards For mPOS with Miura

Apriva, the leading provider of secure end-to-end wireless transaction and information solutions, and Miura Systems, the market leading UK-based mPOS platform provider, today announced their partnership and product integration.

The integration will certify Miura’s M010 hardware to Apriva’s AprivaPay Plus mPOS application.

“As chip card acceptance grows the market will demand more versatile mobile point of sale solutions. There is currently a gap in the market for a comprehensive solution that addresses EMV, Chip and PIN, NFC and other emerging technologies,” said David Riddiford, President at Apriva. “Partnering with Miura allows us to not only fill that gap but provide the ability to adapt with market needs and provide an all-in-one, future-proof mobile commerce solution to customers.”

Integrating Apriva’s AprivaPay Plus mPOS application with the Miura M010 will deliver a comprehensive Bluetooth v4.0 EMV and NFC contact-less mobile POS card reader to merchants. Miura’s proven Chip and PIN capabilities will provide merchants with the ability to accept both Chip and Signature and Chip and PIN cards, assuring that merchants will be able to accept the next generation of payments, while Apriva’s any-to-any connections provide the most comprehensive network of payment partners available in the U.S. This will provide merchants with the ability to choose the partners for payment acceptance that make the most sense for their business. Additionally AprivaPay Plus comes with a Merchant Portal that enables merchants to track and manage inventory, run and export sales and tax reports, create users, and open customer support tickets while on the go.

“As we’ve seen the U.S. market expand in mobile payments and chip card acceptance begin to take off, we saw a great opportunity to bring the EMV, Contactless and NFC technologies we’ve tested and proven in over 35 global markets to the U.S.” said Mark Roberts, SVP Sales & Marketing, Miura Systems. “With their vast connections and highly respected products, Apriva provided us with the ideal partner to bring our Chip and PIN ready peripherals to customers in the U.S.”

AprivaPay Plus is a white-labeled mobile point of sale application that turns an Apple or Android device into a mobile point of sale. This streamlined application is ideal for small and mid-sized merchants, and can be used in any number of venues — storefront or mobile. Utilized by three of the nation’s top five banks, AprivaPay Plus delivers highly sophisticated analytics capabilities to brands, enhanced reporting features to merchants via an online web companion portal, iPhone 6/iOS8 compatibility and compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.

Miura’s M010 is a Chip and PIN card reader which comes with Bluetooth connectivity allowing it to work with a smartphone, tablet and other Bluetooth enabled devices. The M010 device is compatible with a range of peripherals including cash drawers, receipt printers, barcode readers, cradles and wrap-arounds, making it a viable option to replace traditional counter-top POS systems. The device can operate in a fixed (USB connected) or indeed mobile mode whilst paired to a mobile device or a bespoke tablet wrap-around.
