Global fintech SumUp has partnered with accounting software platform Xero to enable existing SumUp merchants to sync their sales history to Xero at no additional cost.

SumUp and Xero have each launched category-defining products and services for the global small business community, serving millions of merchants around the world. For some time, there has been an alignment in values and crossover in merchants as each company was founded to simplify business and make it easy to make a success of an entrepreneurial journey.

In an ever evolving business landscape, SMBs often use multiple tools and providers to secure efficiencies across the company and achieve success. By partnering, SumUp and Xero are displaying immense leadership in providing merchants with a win-win scenario - more features at zero additional cost - versus making merchants pick one company over the other.

Accounting and bookkeeping have long been pain points for UK SMBs. Viewed as arduous and unappealing tasks, financial matters can often take a backseat to other areas of business when an entrepreneur is building their company. However, in response to a clear need, with a large addressable market, companies like SumUp and Xero have launched tech solutions that alleviate these pressures for SMBs.

As part of the company’s ethos to continually meet the needs of its community, SumUp surveys merchants and asks for desired tools and what products would simplify their business further. A frequent request has been a tie-in with Xero - and those calls have been answered.

Now, for the first time, SumUp and Xero have partnered together to make it easier for existing SumUp merchants to sync their accounts. As an added benefit, SumUp One subscribers—those enrolled in SumUp’s flexible subscription plan—can now access Xero with an exclusive offer: 90% off their first six months, providing a cost-effective solution to manage their business finances with ease.

Nataliia Nyshchenko, Head of Partner Growth at SumUp said: “Simplifying business for merchants lies at the heart of everything we do at SumUp. In Xero we have a partner with a similar set of values and by coming together, we can deliver efficiencies for our merchants. We’re excited to launch the partnership and see how it benefits merchants.”

Kate Hayward, UK Country Manager, Xero: “SumUp provides a critical service to small businesses, so we are delighted to provide its customers with this integration. It will give them a much more streamlined experience."
