The Hamburg-based FinTech TrustBills is expanding its management team. As of April, Dr. Oliver Reiss will take on the dual function of CFO/COO as third Managing Director. The appointment not only underlines TrustBills’ consistent growth path, but also the ambition of the Hamburg-based company to develop further business areas with its digital receivables trading platform.

This is precisely where Reiss’ expertise as a company builder comes into play in order to further professionalize the organization as well as internationalize the successful business model, as Jörg Hörster, founder and CEO of TrustBills, says: "Oliver Reiss joins the company at a strategically decisive time. In the current phase, we need to strengthen the growth path we have embarked on with the necessary financial and human resources and, at the same time, expand our products and services into other European markets. For both tasks we could not wish for a better partner in our management team." And Dr. Johannes Ulbricht, Managing Director and General Counsel of TrustBills, adds: "I have known Oliver Reiss for many years and particularly appreciate his passion and motivation with which he develops companies. His impressive hands-on experience is an important asset to us."

From 2008 to 2020 Reiss was part of a success story as CFO at San Francisco-based software company Smaato. During this time, the platform for auctioning advertising media has developed into an international group with offices in Hamburg, New York, Singapore and Shanghai. Smaato was sold to a Chinese listed media holding company in 2016 for 148 million US-Dollar. Four years later, Reiss, who holds a degree in business administration and a doctorate in business informatics, left the company. Since then, he has co-established the venture capital fund AI.FUND in Hamburg in the field of artificial intelligence, in which he remains as a venture partner. In addition, Reiss is shareholder and advisor for other start-ups.

Reiss sees great potential in the business model of TrustBills, which also led him to join the management, as he explains: "The idea, the concept and the product of TrustBills are a fit. And with the expansion into further business areas, I see enormous future potential – also internationally. Taking an active role here and being able to help shaping this path is appealing – especially if the personal chemistry is right. I look forward to the future cooperation and am convinced that we will write a great success story together.“
