Munich-based start-up Hotelbird is counting on Concardis when it comes to mobile payment. In future, the Eschborn-based full-service payment provider will ensure seamless payment processing in the hotel app from the software company. With the hotel app from Hotelbird, users are not only able to reserve hotel rooms and unlock their doors using their smartphone, but they can also digitally take care of the entire check-in and checkout processes, including payment.

‘Hotelbird offers its customers an innovative app which revolutionises hotel stays and takes convenience for the customers to a new level: no more waiting at the desk and everything is done digitally – this goes of course for paying, as well. I am convinced that this will be a successful concept. And I am very pleased that we are able to support Hotelbird in this process with a clever payment solution,’ says Marcus W. Mosen, CEO of Concardis.

‘It was important to us to work with the leading full-service provider in Germany to integrate payment into our app, specifically a provider that knows the hotel industry well in German-speaking Europe and understands our business model. In Concardis, we now have a partner who offers precisely that and who stands out thanks to very modern, easy-to-integrate and flexible software for payments in the app,’ says Juan A. Sanmiguel, CEO and co-founder of Hotelbird.

Concardis specialises in mobile commerce and, with its Payengine solution, offers a PSP platform which has been optimised with mobile end devices in mind. The individual payment methods are completely integrated into the Hotelbird app. This is ensured by the Concardis In-App Payment Library, a mobile software development kit specifically for native apps (iOS and Android). The end user no longer notices a difference between the app and the underlying payment system.

This allows the guest to pay their entire hotel bill using their smartphone. The room, visiting the restaurant as well as add-ons such as use of the wellness facilities or minibar charges are handled directly in the app – with a separation of private and business expenses if necessary.
