The week starting April 25 through April 29 was full of interesting product releases in the sphere of blockchain and trading systems. The most significant events include Misys’ Cloud solutions as well as Nasdaq Validator launching for trading quality assurance. PRODUCT RELEASES OF THE WEEK  

Misys is launching Misys FinCloud, a new range of Cloud solutions and global Cloud environment offering Misys clients the highest standards of security, performance and operating excellence in Cloud operations in the financial services industry. See more 

Computershare and SETL have demonstrated Australia’s first working blockchain solution at Computershare’s annual Investor and Analyst day. The two companies also announced a joint initiative to establish securities ownership registers using blockchain technology. See more

Nasdaq has officially launched the Nasdaq Validator to support exchanges, clearinghouses and central securities depositories (CSDs) in reducing the cost and complexity of quality assurance (QA), and bring new functionality to market quickly and effectively. See more

National Settlement Depository has successfully finished developing and testing an e-proxy voting system running on a distributed ledger (blockchain technology). NSD has been working on the project together with DSX Technologies. See more 

The arrival of Nxchange makes it possible to place and trade securities on a regulated platform without the intervention of a bank or broker being required.  See more 

Pelican, a new mobile trading app that combines premium trading technology with state of the art social functionality, has officially launched today after a successful beta testing period. See more 

To enhance speed the adoption of blockchain for business, IBM announced a new framework for securely operating blockchain networks, as well as new services on the IBM Cloud - See more

SS&C Technologies announced the latest enhancements to its Global Wealth Platform (GWP) - the next generation cloud-based investment management solution. See more

Infosys Finacle and Onegini announced a partnership to integrate the Onegini mobile security platform with Finacle banking solutions. See more

Credits, a blockchain infrastructure provider is partnering with Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, to deliver Blockchain-as-a-Service to UK public sector organisations. See more 

Samsung Electronics announced new partnerships with the world’s largest POS makers, including Verifone, Ingenico Group, First Data and Clover, PAX Technology, Equinox, ID TECH, MagTek, USA ePay and OTI Global, to accelerate mobile payment adoption. See more 

CLIENT WINS

InvestCloud, the global cloud-based digital applet platform for financial services today announced that Portolani, an independent family office based in Belgium, has selected the InvestCloud digital document portal to enhance client communication capabilities and improve their overall digital client experience. See more 

Siraj Finance PJSC, an Islamic finance company based in Abu Dhabi, UAE has signed a new agreement for the implementation of Path Solutions’ iMAL that includes comprehensive Sharia-compliant financial applications. See more 

The Co-operative Group (Co-op), one of the UK’s largest food retailers, has selected ACI Worldwide to run its card payments processing operations and maximise card data security across all of its UK food stores and fuel sites. See more

START UPS

Nexuslab, the Swiss blockchain startup programme powered by Startupbootcamp, has announced a partnership with Rabobank. The Dutch bank joins Nexuslab to support the first round of its programme geared towards early-stage European blockchain ventures. See more

PEOPLE MOVES

essDOCS announced its further expansion in Asia Pacific with the opening of its first mainland China office in Shanghai to be led by newly-appointed VP China, Mr Raymond Sham. See more 

M&A DEALS

AnaCap Financial Partners has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire Barclays plc’s French retail banking and wealth businesses. See more 

Orange and Groupama have signed an agreement that aims to enable the development of an innovative, 100% mobile banking service. This agreement concludes the exclusive discussions that paves the way for the acquisition by Orange of a 65% stake in Groupama Banque. See more
