Sage, the market leader in cloud business management solutions, has today announced the availability of several new apps which integrate with Sage Business Cloud Accounting.  These are designed to help small construction and trades businesses streamline business processes and navigate new domestic VAT reverse charge legislation that specifically impacts the construction industry.

The UK construction industry has endured a turbulent year, navigating a labour shortage due to Brexit and supply-chain issues, against a backdrop of coronavirus-related challenges and price increases.  Additionally, from 1st March 2021, construction firms will need to comply with the domestic VAT reverse charge for building and construction services.

To help construction firms remain within the new legislation, several applications fully integrated with Sage Accounting, which is already domestic VAT reverse charge compliant, are now available on the Sage Marketplace. These solutions are designed to relieve the burden of administration by automating everyday finance and people management tasks. These apps enable small businesses in the construction industry to stay organised, keep on top of payments, have full visibility of cash flow, and engage with their employees.

“If you are running a small construction business, the last thing you want to be worrying about is how to comply with new HMRC legislation. Sage and its partners are dedicated to helping small construction firms to automate time-consuming tasks like finance, payroll, and HR, all while staying compliant.  The Sage Marketplace is full of cloud-based apps specifically designed to meet the needs of construction firms, which will lighten the burden of administration and help free up time for owners to focus on their core business,” said Adrian Malpass, product manager, Sage.

The apps are made available to customers via Sage’s marketplace of functionality-rich, native-cloud apps that address specific construction industry needs. The Sage Accounting partner-developed apps now available on the Marketplace for the construction industry include:

  • Tradify – An all-in-one job management solution built for small trade and service-based businesses that offers a smart scheduler, real-time tracking with GPS and quick quoting.
  • Quote Onsite - Complete Quote Management solution that allows businesses to create, send and track detailed and professional proposals that are automatically converted to invoices in Sage Accounting.
  • Eque2 - Consolidate information from multiple sources, achieving a single solution that offers greater visibility of business operations. You can automate key processes, saving valuable time.
  • eworks Manager - Manage, create, and send out customised and branded quotes to your customers with a few clicks of a button, and then once quote has been accepted, can be converted into a job so the work can be scheduled in.

“QuoteOnSite has enabled us to easily build quote templates which are used across 14 different type loft conversions. It has given us structure for our clients’ details and messages/questions, it records and indicates our success rate, and we can invoice off the same platform. Everything is in one place” said Joe Lucas, Director, Lucas Lofts and Developments.
