Equifax UK has launched Equifax Basic, a new and improved way for consumers to monitor their financial health and better understand their credit history. The new Equifax Basic account refreshes a user’s Equifax Credit Score on a monthly basis and will also include access to their statutory credit report.  

The new and free service comes amid demand from consumers to be able to access their credit information easily and conveniently. Equifax customer data1 shows that while 22% of users sign up for access to their credit report in preparation for major life events such as a mortgage application, and 8% do so to monitor for potential fraud or identity theft, the largest group, over a third (34%), sign up simply to see where they stand, driven by curiosity about their credit score.  

With Equifax Basic, consumers can now track their Equifax Credit Score every month, free of charge, alongside full access to their statutory credit report. A monthly notification will alert users when their score has been refreshed— helping them stay more informed and providing more control over their financial well-being.
