bunq, the second largest neobank in Europe, today unveiled bunq Points, its first loyalty program designed to reward users for everyday spending. Announced during the bunq Update 27 event in Amsterdam, the program is tailored to meet the needs of digital nomads and everyday users alike, offering exciting ways to make every euro count.

With bunq Points, users with a paid subscription will earn one point for every euro spent, while bunq Elite members will earn double points. Besides everyday spending, users can collect points through activities like inviting friends, making bunq their primary bank, or celebrating milestones such as birthdays and anniversaries.

Once users accumulate enough points, they can redeem them for a variety of exclusive rewards. These include discounts on travel and entertainment from select partners, such as Tiqets. As the program expands, bunq Points will add more partners and offer value to every user. For example, a bunq Elite user spending €1000 monthly and receiving their salary to their bunq account can earn over 25,000 points annually. This translates to four months of using bunq for free or up to €200 in partner discounts on average.

Ali Niknam, founder and CEO of bunq: “We make our users' money work harder for them. With bunq Points, we’re turning everyday spending into an opportunity to unlock rewards, giving our users something extra just for doing what they already love – using bunq.”

Announced today at the bunq Update 27 event in Amsterdam, bunq revealed another major update to its app.

Expanded Stocks and automatic investments

Just three months after launch in the Netherlands and France, bunq Stocks makes it out of beta and expands to Spain, Ireland, Belgium, and Italy. With the number of Stocks users more than doubling each month, an average investment of €1,900, and nearly five investments per user over the past three months, buying stocks and ETFs from bunq’s partner Ginmon has become one of the app's most popular features.

Starting today, bunq users can buy over 200 new stocks and ETFs, available for purchase in fractional shares starting as low as €10. Users can now schedule their investments, allowing them to trade at any time of day or night. Additionally, bunq users can now benefit from automatic investing by rounding up spare change or setting up recurring investments in any stock or ETF of their choice. For newcomers to ETF investing, bunq makes it easy to get started by allowing users to pick from low- to high-risk ETFs.
