Lanware, technology partner to the Financial Services sector, announces that the firm has been awarded a four year contract to provide its total technology outsourcing services to Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance at Lloyd’s (“MSIG”).

Lanware has specifically designed the next generation of technology / IT services to support MSIG’s current business plan:  the result is a comprehensive portfolio that enables MSIG to concentrate on their core business whilst supporting them with the necessary service levels, flexibility, reporting and oversight to manage risk and comply with regulation.

The contract was awarded following a rigorous benchmarking exercise conducted by industry leading IT research organisation Gartner. The in-depth analysis delivered unbiased comparisons of Lanware’s performance and pricing relative to other service providers. The results were positive and gave MSIG the assurance to commission Lanware to scope out the next generation of outsourced infrastructure services with an eye on opportunities for cost optimisation.

“Lanware has been delivering services to MSIG for more than ten years and the relationship has transformed from Lanware initially providing network support into a comprehensive technology partnership. This contract represents a new era for Lanware where it has drawn on all its experience to date within financial services, working collaboratively with MSIG to push the boundaries and create a leading edge and industry focused service which is unique within the Lloyd’s market place,” commented Henry Duncombe, Managing Director at Lanware.

“We are thrilled to be setting off on a long term relationship with Lanware, a vendor who understands our needs and the unique security and business requirements of financial services.  Over the years we have grown together and this approach has ensured that we have developed our businesses to our mutual benefit.  We are all looking forward to Henry and his team getting into the delivery of our new services and us continuing our successful relationship,” commented Richard Williams, Chief Information Officer (CIO) MSIG at Lloyd’s

The MSIG contract incorporates a wide range of functions including the Service Desk, Desktop, Infrastructure, Network, Disaster Recovery and vCloud for application development. Security considerations were paramount to the new relationship and MSIG will leverage Lanware’s ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) to help combat and protect against the growing number of cyber threats targeting financial institutions.  Lanware specifically focused on ensuring that all security controls were highly visible giving MSIG ongoing insight into their security status and enabling a pro-active security posture.
