Compass Plus, an international provider of retail banking and electronic payments software to processors and financial institutions, has announced its first Bolivian customer, Banco Fassil, has migrated its entire ATM network to TranzAxis.

Banco Fassil wanted to implement cash recycling ATMs and self-service kiosks, but its ambitions were limited by the system it was using. The bank chose TranzAxis to enable them to modernise their systems and provide a greater array of services to its cardholders.

TranzAxis, Compass Plus’ open development payments platform, provides all ATM driving and switching services for Banco Fassil. TranzAxis manages the bank’s network of cash recycling ATMs and self-service kiosks, enables the ATM network to offer multiple denominations and manages cash deposits. It also has the scope to run Banco Fassil’s disaster recovery site in future. The project was implemented by Compass Plus’ partner in Latin America, World Financial Systems Solutions (WFSS).

Following its migration to TranzAxis, Banco Fassil is planning to offer contactless transactions, launch prepaid cards and provide processing services to other financial institutions.

“By selecting TranzAxis, Banco Fassil is able to implement a range of features that will benefit our cardholders greatly,” said Adolfo Suares Bolzon, Systems General Manager at Banco Fassil. “Compass Plus and its partner WFSS were able to implement the software within the agreed timeframe, and we look forward to seeing the benefits it will bring.”

"WFSS is proud to have a client in Latin America like Banco Fassil that is always at the forefront of technology in the region,” said Juan Bustios, Senior Consultant at WFSS.

“We are delighted to have Banco Fassil on board as our first customer in Bolivia, and look forward to a productive relationship,” said Carlos Seer, Acting Associate VP & Business Development Director, LATAM at Compass Plus. “This partnership is further proof that we are committed to developing the payments infrastructure in the region, ensuring that its people benefit from truly modern technologies.”

DataArt, the global technology consultancy that designs, develops, and supports unique software solutions, today announced its partnership with BANKEX, a leading fintech company, to deliver and launch BANKEX Custody Service – a blockchain-powered crypto storage service that offers complete protection against natural damage, virtual attacks, and human error. After a month-long, invitation-only period, BANKEX Custody is now available to all users.

DataArt played a key role in developing a secure blockchain-based service, which has become the cornerstone of BANKEX Custody, a cryptocurrency storage mechanism similar to a regular deposit box account. The account holder enters into a storage agreement with BANKEX Custody, and the private keys to cryptocurrency wallets are stored in the depository with no external access, including by BANKEX personnel. The depository receipt is then treated as an asset.

BANKEX Custody accepts Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and BKX (the Ethereum-based BANKEX ERC-20 utility token) and is available for both individual and institutional investors. There is currently no fee for the service and no minimum deposit. Customer service is ready to provide assistance every step of the way.

“Many technology firms claim blockchain expertise, but real production experience with blockchain is hard to find,” said Igor Khmel, CEO of BANKEX. “DataArt’s team brings top-notch technology expertise, and the level of security provided through our partnership surpasses the standards of most wallets and exchanges. And while the service is well suited to institutional investors, having no minimum deposit means that we can also serve smaller firms and individuals holding smaller crypto assets.”

“Blockhain in financial services is one of DataArt’s strongest and most popular offerings,” said Alla Lemlekh, VP of Business Development at DataArt. “Working on a new service in a relatively new slice of the industry is always challenging and rewarding, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with BANKEX.”

BANKEX and DataArt plan to continue developing the service and adding new cryptocurrencies.

So, there are beauty boxes, coffee boxes, art boxes, etc. But the client has no way to choose what the contents of her box will be. Despite this, the business model is successful. In fact, if we are to believe the infographic below, this business was worth $2.6 billion in 2016 alone. To be fair, the infographic contains a lot more information than just how much the subscription box industry is worth. It is also packed with valuable information about the trends that all ecommerce providers should be aware of. It’s info that you should be keenly interested in if you sell things online. Ingenico Group (Euronext: FR0000125346 – ING), the global leader in seamless payment, today announced that its nexo-based payment gateway addressing organised retail merchants received the first market deployment authorisations from the French and Belgium domestic card schemes, GIE CB and Bancontact.

Merchants will be able to accept co-branded cards using the domestic brands, CB in France and Bancontact in Belgium, rather than through the international brands (Visa, Mastercard), and thus reduce their acquiring costs. This is an important milestone for nexo standards and another demonstration of their benefits for retailers.

By adopting nexo standards, retailers can deploy a uniform, harmonised acceptance solution in all their countries of operation. This accelerates their time to market and reduces their implementation, running and maintenance costs. More and more card schemes recognise the level of quality and security of nexo specifications and therefore accept solutions based on nexo standards.

This achievement further demonstrates Ingenico Group’s commitment to delivering state-of-the-art solutions to our merchants based on the nexo standards.’ said Stéphane Jacquis, Senior VP Product, Enterprise Retail at Ingenico Group. ‘Ingenico Group is the only provider to have received a nexo certification (nexo IS v3.2) for its payment gateway to date, and has already deployed it in more than five European countries. We are working with several merchants and other domestic schemes to further extend the geographical and functional scope of our solution in the coming months.

It is a key step for our association,’ said Claude Brun, Chairman of nexo Board of Directors and Chairman of the General Assembly. ‘This demonstrates that nexo standards, collaboratively designed by prominent payment industry players to ensure a high level of security and functionality, represent a unique initiative towards card payment harmonisation for all categories of players and merchants, in Europe and beyond.
