Tinkoff Investments has become the first broker in Russia to offer securities trading on  weekends.

Weekend trading will be available to customers of any Tinkoff Investments plan  between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Moscow time. The Terms of Service  applicable to each plan will remain the same for weekend operations. Customers can  access weekend trading via their brokerage accounts in the Tinkoff Investments mobile  app and on the Investments section of the Tinkoff website.

All customer orders received by the broker during the weekend will be processed  directly between the seller and the buyer. Tinkoff Investments will act as a market  maker, i.e. an intermediary that warrants the order execution. To manage liquidity and  price formation, Tinkoff Investments uses its proprietary Quantitative Marketmaking  Engine (QMM). This tool analyzes news, stock dynamics, and hundreds of other  financial indicators in real time.

Initially, weekend trading will be limited to the most liquid securities traded on the St.  Petersburg Stock Exchange, with the number of securities available for trading set to  increase as trade volumes on the service grow.

Tinkoff Investments is the largest brokerage platform in Russia and the country’s  leading one-stop full service digital retail investment platform. It has more than 1.8  million active customers on Moscow Exchange, the largest exchange group in Russia,  as of November 2021.

Dmitry Panchenko, Director of Tinkoff Investments, commented:

“Borders and time constraints are becoming a thing of the past. For example,  cryptocurrencies and many other financial instruments have been traded 24/7 since  their inception, which is convenient and in demand by today's investors. Global events  happen outside of regular trading hours as well. It is important for investors to be able to  trade at any time that is convenient for them. Thus, we are continuing Tinkoff’s legacy of  taking the first step in breaking the established rules and offering a new level of service.

We are the first in Russia and among a growing number of brokers in the world to offer weekend trading for retail investors. We are confident that weekend access to the stock  market will become a major draw for investors who lack the time to follow market  dynamics on weekdays, and who will now be able to promptly respond to weekend  events.”
