Horizon Software (Horizon), the leading global technology provider for electronic trading and investment management, has announced today that Eurobank Equities, the brokerage arm of Eurobank, one of the four systemic banks in Greece, has gone live with Horizon Software. Eurobank Equities chose Horizon’s Platform for Automated Trading for click trading, market making and agency trading on the Athens Exchange. It is the second Greek broker to go live with Horizon as a replacement for its legacy system.

Horizon’s trading platform will enable Eurobank Equities to perform market making for stocks, stock options and stock futures as well as index futures and options. The traders at Eurobank Equities will use Horizon to hedge, create trading strategies and monitor the market. The platform will also be used for real-time market data and to execute transactions on the Helex market through native connectivity.

Alexis Chryssochoides, General Manager, Head of Trading and Product Development at Eurobank Equities, said: “Not only is Horizon Software able to provide all the features we need, it also gives us the tools to tailor the platform to our needs. The trading platform has impressive functionality and comes with an extensive array of innovative tools. Its scalability will allow us to extend our market making activities as and when needed. Another factor in our decision to go with Horizon was its native connectivity to the Athens Exchange, which allows us to perform continuous market making directly on the market.”

Sylvain Thieullent, CEO of Horizon Software, commented: “We are delighted that Greek banks have put so much trust in our click trading and market making technology. This is particularly pleasing as this is a fast-growing market. We have a great combination of teams which work hard to respond to all client requirements, and ongoing investment in R&D which enables us to offer low-latency, reliable and flexible software. With 18 years of international experience we have become the provider of choice of the most advanced and adaptable software solutions for global financial institutions.”

Eurobank Equities is Greece’s largest broker, ranking 1st for the eighth consecutive year; it has a market share ranging between 15% and 18% and is considered the first choice for the largest and most important international and local institutional investors.  Eurobank Equities was ranked 1st  in the “Leading Brokerage Firm” category of the 2016 Extel Survey for the third year, while the firm’s Research Team captured the top position in the same survey for the fourth consecutive year.
