Policy Expert, one of the UK’s leading personal lines insurers spanning home, motor, and pet insurance to over 1.5million customers today announces the appointment of Mark Wilson as its new Chair, as it looks to accelerate growth and build on its position as one of the UK’s fastest-growing insurance brands.

The appointment will take effect from February 2025.

Mark brings 25 years of experience in the global insurance industry. He previously ran Asian insurance giant AIA before serving as CEO of Aviva from 2013 to 2018. Mark also holds the position of Non-Executive Director at Blackrock.

The appointment follows a significant year of growth for Policy Expert, which recently surpassed 1.5m policyholders across its combined home, motor, and newly launched pet insurance proposition.

Policy Expert also secured new backing from international private equity firm Cinven in September 2024, who acquired a 50% shareholding from a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

Mark will be instrumental in supporting the company’s continuing growth, including increasing its existing customer base, driving the company strategy, and exploring potential M&A activity.
