OpenPayd Appoints 10x Banking’s Richard Given as Group General Counsel

OpenPayd, a leading global payments and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform has today announced the appointment of Richard Given as Group General Counsel, to oversee the group’s legal and regulatory work.

Richard brings to the role over 20 years of in-house experience across technology and financial services. His latest role, as General Counsel and Company Secretary at 10x Banking, saw him start as the company’s first lawyer and play a central part in scaling the fintech company from a small start-up to its industry-leading position today. Prior to 10x, Richard held the roles of Global Head of Legal for Worldwide Operations at HSBC and Legal Director of Emerging Markets at Cisco.

Given brings an in-depth understanding of legal, regulatory and transactional aspects of multiple sectors including, acquisitions, finance, media and technology. At OpenPayd, Richard will head up the legal team and join the executive team.
