He will report to Juerg Hunziker, Group CEO, and be responsible for connecting client and market requirements and translating them into product and service offerings.

Martin brings many years of substantial experience in digitizing the financial services industry to his new role. He joins Avaloq from The Boston Consulting Group where he was a Principal and core member of the Financial Institutions and Technology Advantage Practice Areas until now. Prior to that, he worked for a number of top-tier financial institutions for more than 15 years, including Commerzbank, Credit Suisse and Dresdner Bank. He spent a significant time of his professional life in Asia Pacific. Martin holds an MBA from IE Business School and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.

Martin’s main responsibilities will include product strategy, product design, product management (in collaboration with the Group Chief Technology Officer) as well as product positioning, messaging and pricing. The Group CPO will support Avaloq’s market initiatives.

Juerg Hunziker, Avaloq’s Group CEO, said: “I’m delighted that someone of Martin’s exceptional talent will join us as our Group CPO. He has significant market experience and a very impressive track record. As we continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients, the Group CPO role will increase our execution capability to drive scalable and repeatable product and service offerings and further strengthen our client centricity.”

Thomas Beck, Avaloq’s Group CTO, said: “Innovation is a key success factor for us, and the new role of Chief Product Officer will help further catalyse greater innovation for the benefit of our clients. We will be able to offer innovation even faster, while leveraging and scaling our existing software and service offering.”

Avaloq’s designated Group CPO, Martin Greweldinger, said: “I greatly look forward to joining Avaloq, a business that is very well positioned at the heart of a fast-changing, fast-digitising global financial services sector. It is an exciting opportunity at the leading edge of the fintech industry.”
