Worldline [Euronext: WLN], Europe's leading provider of payment and transaction services, is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with the City of Paris by signing the "Platinum" level of the Paris Climate Action Charter, the highest level of commitment to climate action of the Paris Climate Action Charter. Through this initiative, Worldline reaffirms its ambition to fight against climate change by setting itself the goal of achieving carbon neutrality over the long term.

Worldline joined the City of Paris' Paris Action Climat project in October 2018, confirming its commitment to fight against climate change. By today becoming a signatory at the highest level of contribution in the project alongside 7 major territorial players, Worldline reaffirms its strong will to act over the long term to reduce greenhouse gases and the overall carbon footprint of its activity. More specifically and with regard to its activities, Worldline has chosen to commit to 5 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), SDG 13, considered as most relevant through the prism of the City of Paris' Climate Plan and the SDGs 4 - 8 - 12 and 16, considered as most relevant regarding the company’s activities.

This initiative is part of the environmental actions implemented by Worldline and supported by its long-term climate strategy, which aims to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. The Group's strategy aims to improve environmental efficiency by reducing the carbon and energy intensity of its activities. Within this framework, Worldline is committed to:

- Reduce its carbon intensity by 2.67% each year, in line with its objectives validated by the Sciences Based Targets initiative [1] (SBTi), i.e. -19% by 2025 and -45% by 2035 compared to 2018;

- Pursue ISO 14001 certification of its strategic data centres and offices with more than 500 employees;

- Achieve an average PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.65 by 2020 in its data centres;

- Supply the Group's electricity consumption with 100% renewable energy;

- Continue to contribute to carbon neutrality by offsetting 100% of residual CO2 emissions related to its activities (data centres, offices and business travel) and CO2 emissions over the entire life cycle of its payment terminals.

This strategy, which is fully integrated at the heart of its TRUST 2020 programme, is bearing fruit since 100% of the company's CO2 emissions are now offset. This performance has also been rewarded by numerous extra-financial rating agencies and organisations, such as CDP, which awarded Worldline an A- rating in its first evaluation, and EcoVadis, which awarded the Company a score of 80/100 for its exemplary environmental practices for the second year in a row.

As part of the 1.5C strategy of the Paris Action Climat framework and the signature of the Paris Action Climat Charter, Worldline confirms its operational long-term climate action plan. This plan encompasses mitigation, adaptation and compensation measures with a view to achieving carbon neutrality by setting quantified targets. All progress is monitored by key performance indicators, calculated and published on an annual basis.

Sbastien Mandron, Worldline's CSR Director, said: "As stated in our company purpose, voted in June this year, Worldline's ambition is to contribute to sustainable economic growth. By signing the Paris Climate Action Charter today, we are reaffirming through this concrete commitment, aligned with our TRUST 2020 plan, our ambition to fight climate change and thus act for a more environmentally friendly society.”
