Tietoevry Banking And Tapeeze Partner To Create A New Era For Payment Cards Via Fully-Personalized And Tokenized Card Products

Tietoevry Banking, a market-leading provider of financial SaaS solutions for the Nordics and beyond, today announced a strategic partnership with Tapeeze, a Swedish fintech that brings the power and flexibility of digital wallets and tokenization to traditional physical payment cards.  

Through this partnership, Tietoevry Banking and Tapeeze will enable banks, fintechs and branded organizations such as sports clubs, car manufacturers or music festivals to create their own branded multi-function cards including flexible, secure payment functionality – without the need for complex infrastructure or regulatory approvals. Fans can use these cards to show their affinity with a brand, team or product, while banks benefit from a top-of-wallet payment offering and enhanced loyalty via a card linked to the Visa™ or Mastercard™ global acceptance networks.

Under the terms of this agreement, non-banks will be able to issue their own branded and personalized cards using Tietoevry Banking’s low-cost, sustainable and fast-to-market production techniques. Tapeeze uses the same tokenization technology found in products such as rings, smartwatches, Google Pay and Apple Pay, delivered via a physical card. This is the first time this kind of technology, which includes enhanced security through skim-proof tokenization and optional biometric factors, has been made available to non-banking entities for card products anywhere in the world.
