MYPINPAD, the global leader in secure personal authentication solutions, is strengthening its presence in the Asia-Pacific secure payment space by providing its regional partner Clik, a fast-growing South East Asian payments aggregator, with its innovative Authenticator solution.

This is the latest development in the deepening relationship between the two companies. They first announced their partnership through the launch of MYPINPAD’s Open mPOS system to the Asian market as a solution to support merchants in responding to the region’s fragmented consumer payments landscape.

With Authenticator, Clik will benefit from a safe, easy-to-use service on which to develop secure yet convenient personal authentication applications for wallet and online transactions.

Using this implementation, Clik will be able to develop card PIN entry solutions for consumer mobile payment apps and eWallets, helping to further enhance convenience for consumers in the Asia-Pacific region. This service will provide merchants and consumers a safer and more convenient way to authenticate transactions using their card PIN. This will replace alternative authentication techniques such as One Time Passwords (OTP).

In addition to supporting Clik in providing innovative new payment options to merchants, MYPINPAD can assist the company to support merchant customers in accessing improved data on its consumers. By capturing information on transactions on its payment platform, and enriching this data with demographic and geolocational data, Clik will provide merchants with unprecedented customer insight.

Using this insight, merchants can improve their products or services and offer an enhanced customer experience - while protecting customer privacy - thereby harnessing customer insight to grow their revenues.

Morten Hofstad, Head of Asia Pacific, MYPINPAD, explained: “Consumers are opting for an increasingly wide array of cashless payment options – from cards to eWallets – meaning retailers need access to partners capable of supporting them in accepting the broadest possible range of payment methods. With our well-established presence throughout Asia-Pac, our innovative Authenticator solution and our data offering, we can help Clik meet this need, providing them with the tools they need to really add value to their customer relationships.

Matthew Tippetts, CEO of Clik, added: “It has been great to work with MYPINPAD over the last few years – our collaboration has already seen us launch a host of industry firsts onto the Asian payments market. We’re excited by the possibilities presented by these new products from MYPINPAD, and we can’t wait to see how they can be used to transform the payments landscape in APAC even further over the coming years.”
