Ixaris and Amadeus to Deliver a Global Prepaid Virtual Payments Offering

Ixaris, the payments technology expert, today announced it has partnered with Amadeus to deliver a global prepaid virtual payments offering, specifically for the travel industry. The agreement underpins the launch, earlier this year, of Amadeus global prepaid virtual card offering, the MasterCard branded Amadeus B2B Wallet Prepaid. As part of the collaboration, Ixaris and Amadeus have established a joint, dedicated business development team, focused on meeting the constantly evolving needs of the travel industry, as well as enabling efficient & cost effective settlement of all supplier payments.

Alex Mifsud, CEO of Ixaris Group, commented, “We are proud to be working with Amadeus to help develop its B2B Wallet proposition and now to extend it to countries around the world with our prepaid virtual payments technology at its core. This development is a strong endorsement of our strategy to develop B2B payments that suit specific industries, and – as is the case with Amadeus - supplying the payment capability to innovative and disruptive companies. Travel, and in particular, online travel is an industry with huge potential to benefit from the changes in the way we pay, receive & send money.”

Celia Pereiro, Head of Travel Payments at Amadeus said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Ixaris to deliver a pre-paid virtual offering to our customers, the first of a number of innovative payment solutions focused on the travel sector. Ixaris’s long-standing experience and innovative and future-proof approach to payments, fits perfectly with travel’s constantly evolving market place. Our travel agent customers have been requesting prepaid virtual payments for some time. With this development, we can now offer the ultimate flexible, global solution.”
