EMPLOYEES at Capital One are celebrating after receiving two accolades at the Director of Finance Awards.  They won Global Finance Team of the Year and Catherine Hinnigan clinched the Rising Star Award.

The team beat competition from top national companies and was commended for its training and development, innovation and Agile way of working. 

Catherine Hinnigan, a financial analyst, has worked at Capital One since September 2011, when she joined on the graduate placement scheme. She won the award after being put forward by her peers having proved herself to be a high performing, diligent member of the team who isn’t afraid to seize challenging opportunities and who is highly regarded by her colleagues.

Neil Herbert, chief financial officer (CFO), said: “I’m really proud of the team and this recognition is testament to the great work we are doing in the industry. This award is the second we have won this year for the team and it is fantastic that we are being recognised on a national platform. Special congratulations to Catherine too, it is well deserved and showcases the talent we have at Capital One.” 

Neil was shortlisted for Global CFO of the year at the awards.

Catherine said: “I am thrilled to receive the Rising Star Award. I started at Capital One on the graduate placement scheme and soon realised my passion lay in finance.  Capital One has supported me in my development and has helped me get to where I am today.”

The awards took place in a glitzy ceremony at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, London, on Thursday, July 14 and are an opportunity to recognise the achievements of finance leaders and teams at the forefront of UK business.

Neil and his team also recently won Finance Team of the Year for a blue chip company at the Business Finance Awards.
