Shawbrook Bank Slashes Product Development Time by 88% With AND Digital Partnership

Shawbrook Bank, a leading UK specialist bank known for its tailored financial solutions, has transformed its mortgage product development process with AND Digital.

Through the partnership, Shawbrook were able to reduce the time required to switch mortgage products from 107 days to 13, through AND Digital leading a comprehensive upskilling initiative to build a high-performing team while delivering critical software enhancements.

Prior to the transformation, Shawbrook faced challenges with legacy systems, inefficient software delivery, and outdated waterfall methodologies. To address these issues, AND Digital implemented a comprehensive plan that involved building an agile delivery culture, upgrading technological infrastructure, and equipping Shawbrook’s teams with modern development skills.

A fully integrated mortgage switch journey was developed using Microsoft Azure and React, combining automated valuations, credit checks, and financial decision-making for seamless processing.

AND Digital improved Shawbrook’s in-house skills to reduce ongoing development costs and shorten end-to-end delivery time by transforming how customer data was stored and used.

The collaboration delivered measurable outcomes that have redefined Shawbrook’s operational capabilities. In-house development capabilities were bolstered through targeted training and coaching, enabling Shawbrook to decrease reliance on external resources and reduce ongoing development costs.

These advancements were underpinned by the introduction of streamlined deployment processes, which cut deployment times from 12 hours to just 2 hours and streamlined the broker journey by cutting application time from 40 minutes to 8 minutes.
