Fime is one of the first Test Platform Providers to support EMV®* 3-D Secure (EMV 3DS) Access Control Server (ACS) testing in line with v2.3.1 of the EMV 3DS Specifications. Fime’s EMV 3DS Test Platform has been qualified and its labs (in France, India and Taiwan) accredited by EMVCo to help vendors and issuers to ensure the compliance of their 3DS ACS solutions. These services will help stakeholders align with the latest version of the specifications, enhance fraud prevention and improve the user authentication journey, and thereby reduce cart abandonment.

Fime achieved this qualification as part of EMVCo’s Early Adopter Program. To complete this process, its EMV 3DS Test Platform tested the functionality of two 3DS ACS modules.

Raphaël Guilley, VP Solutions at Fime comments, “The simplicity of the e-commerce checkout flow is all-important. Merchants face the challenge of making the online payment process as simple as possible, while maintaining strong security and ensuring compliance with the relevant specifications and regulations. The latest EMV 3DS Specifications include features such as Secure Payment Confirmation (SPC) and out-of-band (OOB) authentication which will streamline the payment process, and therefore increase approval rates.

Guilley continues: “These specification updates have been brought through collaboration with the Web Payment Security Interest Group, which was created by FIDO Alliance, EMVCo, and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), to enhance the security and interoperability of web payments. Fime’s involvement in different working groups provides its experts with a full view of the ecosystem. This knowledge can be used to help stakeholders meet industry best practices.”

Fime’s EMV 3DS test platform is powered by the Fime Test Factory, which provides the scalability to digitize and automate the full testing journey. This is complemented with guidance and technical support from Fime’s lab experts and consultants.

This qualification marks the first step Fime is taking to support migration to EMV 3DS v2.3.1. Fime also plans to provide testing services for 3DS Server, Software Development Kit and Directory Server modules.
