CoInvestor, the fast-growing alternative assets platform, has made three senior hires to its client team to bolster the rapid adoption of its software as a service for financial advisers and fund managers.

The company has appointed Darren Fletcher formerly at Intelliflo, a supplier of financial adviser software; Ella-Louise Houghton from Thomson Reuters, and Declan Blackwood from Coutts, the private bank. The expertise they bring from financial services and technology will further enhance CoInvestor’s ability to provide innovative solutions to meet the challenges advisers and investors face.

Launched at the end of 2015, CoInvestor is transforming the management of alternative assets by digitising the traditionally offline, paper-based asset class. The company’s solutions provide fund managers and financial advisers with fully integrated software to enhance the management of alternative asset investments.

Advisers benefit from improved investor reporting, with a view of their clients’ full range of alternative asset investments, all in one place.

The appointment of additional business development specialists from a mix of finance and technology backgrounds further supports CoInvestor’s commitment to clients’ need for improved access to alternative asset investments. The company’s overall headcount has quadrupled less than two years since its inception.

Sam Plumptre, Chief Executive of CoInvestor, said: “As the alternative asset industry is becoming more attractive to investors our client base is expanding. Our aim is to bring this historically opaque asset class to the mainstream by streamlining online applications and enhancing current processes to save fund managers and advisers significant amounts of time.”

“By bolstering the client team with specialists from the wealth management and technology space we further strengthen our ability to solve the current frustrations that advisers and investors face and increase internal efficiencies to make it easier to invest in high-quality alternative assets.”

CoInvestor is enjoying fast growth and last month announced that it had been chosen by LendInvest Capital as the preferred method for UK advisers to invest in its Luxembourg-domiciled Real Estate Opportunity Fund.
