NEXT Biometrics, the world leader in advanced high-security fingerprint sensor technology, has secured its first mass production order in Vietnam. The order, for NEXT NB-2033-U2, has been placed by a Vietnamese System Integrator and the sensors will be used to support payments authentication and know-your-customer (KYC) use cases for stronger, more convenient transactions.

This order highlights the growing demand for secure and trusted authentication in Vietnam, driven by the Amended Electronic Transactions Law which took effect in July 2024. The updated law formally recognizes biometric methods for identity verification, which enables financial institutions to complete KYC checks using Vietnam’s government-issued digital identity system in combination with biometric authentication.

This value of this initial mass-production order is modest, though the annual demand for the solution is expected to reach 10,000 units in 2026.
