Marqeta 3D Secure will not only help card issuers meet regulatory requirements of Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) under the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2) in certain markets, it will also enable these issuers to create tailored cardholder authentication experiences that can help reduce online fraud. 3D Secure is an authentication protocol developed by the card networks.
