OpenLink, the global leader in trading and risk management solutions for the energy, commodities, corporate and financial services industries, has been named as the Overall CTRM/ETRM market leader in a vendor perception audit carried out by analyst firm, ComTech Advisory. OpenLink was named in the top two in 12 of the 15 possible categories, taking the leading spot in Energy, Electric Power, Crude Oil, Single Platform for all Commodities, Risk Management, and Overall Market Leader.

The ComTech Advisory survey attracted 230 responses between January and May 2016, drawn from a global audience with a concentration in North America and Europe. The majority of respondents identified themselves as Merchant/Trader or Utility/Generator and traded a range of commodities but most commonly traded financial and physical energy. Before analysis, the responses were rigorously vetted to ensure that they were genuine and not from vendors.

Doug Wendler, EVP & Chief Client Officer at OpenLink, said: “The results of this survey are very
pleasing because they represent real market sentiment. At OpenLink, we work hard to ensure our
products always stay one step ahead of what our clients need, and it’s good to see those investments paying off. Over the coming months, we look forward to unveiling more detail around the work we’ve been putting into our Cloud strategy, which we believe is a very compelling set of offerings.”

Patrick Reames, Managing Partner and founder of ComTech Advisory, added: “The CTRM vendor
landscape has more than 86 vendors servicing at least some components of the commodity trading markets; however, the results of the 2016 CTRM Vendor Perceptions Report shows that market continues to be dominated – both in terms of market reach and revenues - by about a half dozen vendors. Within this elite group, OpenLink continues to rank as the most recognized in terms of brand and leadership perceptions.”

This success follows a string of endorsements for OpenLink. In the first part of 2016, it was named Commodities Trading Systems Leader by Risk Magazine, Top Energy Trading Risk Vendor in the 2016 Chartis RiskTech100® Rankings, and Best Overall ETRM Platform in the Energy Risk Rankings for the eleventh consecutive year.
