GoSwiff releases a new line of business to support mobile network operators (MNOs) in omni-channel payments. Alternative payment methods offer a great opportunity for MNOs to differentiate their proposition to the market and to develop additional services, leveraging the existing merchant accounts and getting new ones on board.

Consumer facing financial services including mobile money, airtime top up, closed loop cards and remittance present MNOs a significant strategic channel to expand their revenues and possibly launch new mobile financial services in the market. Smart Point of Sale (Smart POS) is at the centre to provide a platform for merchants to enable all mobile financial services, to acquire data analytics, to develop additional consumer offering and to integrate the acceptance of payments into new technologies available for specific industry verticals.

Especially in the emerging markets, the growing smartphone penetration, a large base of SMEs and micro-merchants and a low penetration of traditional POS terminals offer huge potential for the first movers. A specific target audience for many mobile financial services are the under-banked merchants, who currently do not have access to mainstream financial services.

With the expertise in 27 countries and cooperation with multinational MNOs including Ooredoo and Globe Telecom, GoSwiff is gearing its’ payment acceptance platform to match the requirements of mobile financial services.

The new line of business will handle strategic direction, operations and go-tomarket execution of GoSwiff’s worldwide mobile network operator focus, led by Stefano Diemmi, COO of GoSwiff.

“We are fulfilling the need of strategic products and services that the MNOs currently ask worldwide”, said Stefano Diemmi. ‘We enhance continuously our smart payment technologies to sustain GoSwiff's edge in the mobile operator space. We also bring on board our unique expertise in supporting with the proper go-to-market strategies, increasing the market penetration, activation of merchants and subsequently the usage and size of transactions,” he added.

GoSwiff’s Professional Managed Services contain outsourcing and strategy consulting with merchant on boarding and education. Mobile network operators also benefit from merchant profiling, segmentation and engagement with different industry verticals. GoSwiff’s Value Added Services (VAS) consist of merchant reward programs to encourage a greater volume of transactions, and consumer loyalty tools that allow merchants to better engage with their customers.

The launch was made during Money 2020 Europe event in Copenhagen, Denmark.
