Chip & PIN Solutions (CPS), the point of sale card payment company that helps over 8,000 UK small businesses manage their payment needs, today announces that its Operations Director Ingigerður (Inga) Guðmundsdóttir becomes Managing Director. Guðmundsdóttir moved to the UK in October 2017 from Valitor, CPS’s parent company and a leading payment solutions provider headquartered in Iceland.

Guðmundsdóttir brings a wealth of experience, having worked previously in various roles at Arion Bank, Valitor and JP Morgan. With the move, she also becomes the first Icelandic MD of a UK payments company and one of only a handful of female senior leaders in the payments industry.

“I made the move to the UK from Iceland to support the growth of the Chip & PIN Solutions’ business. We now service thousands of customers and are one of the most recognised brands among UK SMEs”, said Guðmundsdóttir. “With the move to MD, I want to continue to leverage the relationship between CPS and Valitor to provide excellence in customer service and payment services for our customers. I also want to use my position to inspire and mentor more women to take senior roles in the payments industry. I am incredibly excited by the opportunity.”

Vidar Thorkelsson, CEO of Valitor, added: “Valitor is committed to hiring and rewarding the very best talent. Inga is a brilliant candidate to be MD of Chip & PIN Solutions and brings a wealth of experience and passion to the role. Her appointment also underlines Valitor’s commitment to diversity as the bedrock of our success.”

Guðmundsdóttir’s promotion follows the appointment of Camilla Sunner as Valitor’s Managing Director, Global Partnerships and Dr Christine Bailey joining as Chief Marketing Officer in 2017.
