Fast growing UK business and digital transformation specialist, Rainmaker Solutions, is expanding into the United States and has enlisted business and technology executive, Patrick Andersson, as managing director for the region.

Andersson joins Rainmaker as the firm continues to expand its global footprint amid a surge in demand for its transformation services. “Patrick, with his in-depth technology business and market knowledge, as well as extensive industry relationships, will proactively develop and grow existing and new business across North America” says Rainmaker CEO, Jan Joubert.

Launched in 2010, London-based Rainmaker recorded a CAGR of 114% between 2014 and 2017, booking revenues of over £20 million in 2017. The firm opened its first international office, in South Africa, in 2017.

Rainmaker helps ambitious organisations deliver business-critical change, so they can thrive in the digital age. As both the private and public sectors increase their use of transformation specialists, Rainmaker has been engaged in a recruitment drive which has seen its headcount grow to over 120.

Andersson will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area, in the heart of Silicon Valley, and brings a wealth of experience across business line management, complex architectures, fast-moving technology, and product and solution strategy. For the past four years, Andersson, served as the VP of the Global Cloud Solutions business line at Elekta, the Swedish medical device company.

Prior to his time at Elekta, Andersson worked in technical and leadership roles for global Fortune 100 companies, including Cisco, running business and technology transformation programmes for world-class organisations across the globe, implementing and embedding lasting change to future-proof their businesses.

Andersson confessed, “I’ve known the team at Rainmaker for many years and was always impressed with their ability to solve complex problems and make a real difference for customers. They are customer-centric, bold and transparent with their advice and they always do the right thing, even when the right thing is hard to do. These are the same standards I operate by. I’m looking forward to creating value for our current and future US customers, better aligning their business and IT functions to achieve lasting transformation.”

Commenting on the expansion into the US, Rainmaker CEO, Jan Joubert said, “We have strong expectations for the US market. Organisations are tired of out-dated, expensive, inflexible infrastructure, and want to move towards innovative and digitally-enabled technologies.”

“Often, transformation programmes are poorly aligned with business objectives, so they regularly fail to deliver on the promised value. And they are often based on technology that is out-of-date by the time it is has been rolled out, creating a costly and frustrating cycle of trying to catch up with technology debt. Through a combination of high-end advisory and sleeves-rolled-up practical support, we are earning a reputation for making transformation succeed.”

“We’ve known Patrick for many years and are excited to have him on board. His unique skill set and experience will help make the hard things happen for our US customers.”
