Tilt to Launch in the UK

Tilt— the easiest way to collect money from a group —has announced it has launched in the UK over the summer. Tilt allows users to contribute and collect money for birthday presents, charitable causes, weekends away or anything in a group - from 15 to 15,000.  It takes less than 30 seconds to create a tilt, invite friends to chip in and start collecting the money - all for free.   

Tilt has been experiencing rapid growth, at more than 40% month over month on university campuses. Founded in February 2012 by James Beshara and Khaled Hussein, the company has secured over $70 million in funding from notable Silicon Valley figures including Facebook’s founding president Sean Parker, Andreessen Horowitz, Reddit’s Alexis Ohanian, and the rapper Nas.

Tilt is the first company to take a mobile-first approach to crowdfunding with social built into every layer of the app. Students have adopted the app in droves using Tilt to pool money for a wide range of on-campus activities ranging from charity events to sporting trips, frat parties to socials. This trend is being replicated at campuses across the UK. For example, students at the University of St. Andrews are using Tilt to fundraise for the university’s prestigious annual Don’t Walk Fashion Show.

In the UK the average tilt collects £170 with the help of 5 contributors. The Brits are using Tilt every day for everything fromorganising high schools reunionsfundraising for good causes to paying off rent and utility bills. Globally someone contributes to a tilt every 15 seconds.

The Tilt app, available for free on PC, Mac, Android and iOS is the highest rated crowdfunding app on iTunes has to date seen over 500,000 groups pool funds for anything and everything.
