VocaLink's campaign, which was launched to raise employee awareness of the various forms of cyber threats that the company is exposed to on a daily basis, was celebrated for its pioneering approach to cyber security. VocaLink was shortlisted alongside a number of companies, before winning the coveted award, in a highly competitive category.

Phil Westgarth, Interim Director of Security at VocaLink, commented: “We are delighted to have received this award. We worked hard to create a campaign that was both distinctive and memorable, and which also supported a wider ambition to develop innovative ways in which we could not only increase awareness around cyber security, but change attitudes towards it entirely.

“Our security team play a vital role in VocaLink’s success, and as our business continues to expand on an international scale, it is important that our team is agile, responsive and pragmatic to the unending cyber threats faced across different markets. We are constantly evolving our security strategy, and this year will see us further develop our current campaigns, whilst working hard to create new, bespoke initiatives to address different markets.”

The annual awards celebrate excellence and innovation from individuals, teams and companies within the cyber security industry. Any international organisations, both public and private, from start-up to large companies, with a presence in the UK are eligible for nomination.

Karla Jobling, COO at BeecherMadden & Tatius Group and a judge for the awards, said: “The competition to be named as a winner this year was especially tough. We saw some well-known individuals and companies enter, as well as a range of innovative products.”

VocaLink and other recipients of the Cyber Security Awards 2016 were honoured during the awards dinner and presentation on June 23rd, 2016 at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel, London attended by the finalists, industry leaders, and judges.
