Datalink (NASDAQ:DTLK), a leading provider of data center infrastructure and services, today announced the appointment of 20-year security consultant and practitioner Jason Rader to spearhead the company's new security practice as national practice director, security services. The new practice area expands Datalink's services offerings to include security consulting and implementation across the entire Datalink portfolio, from physical infrastructure to data center relocation, data and application migration, cloud deployment and beyond.

Rader has spent the last eight years at RSA in various senior security capacities, most recently as Chief Security Strategist and Director of Cyber Threat Intelligence. In those roles he managed the strategic planning process and worked directly with clients to develop solutions for security-related business problems while also leading the RSA Research group in collecting intelligence related to the latest cyber attacks and advanced threat groups. He has also worked as a security architect and consultant, co-authored papers on intelligence-driven security operations, keynoted international security conferences, and is widely regarded as a thought leader in the space.

At Datalink, the new security practice headed by Rader will join the broad suite of services that the company has launched over the past several years to support clients through the entire data center lifecycle, help them navigate and manage complex new technologies, and ensure that their technology investments deliver tangible business results. Those results range from risk mitigation - the primary goal of the company's new security consulting services as well as its existing disaster recovery planning capabilities - to revenue growth, increased operational efficiency and an improved client experience.

"Security concerns and associated spending are rising steadily in response to today's serious data breach incidents, governance requirements, and the challenges of protecting data and networks in the current business environment," said Shawn O'Grady, chief operating officer of Datalink. "We believe that as the premier data center transformation company, Datalink is uniquely positioned to help our clients meet these challenges. Jason's expertise and vision will help us to deliver on that promise."
