Merrill Unveils SaaS Application for Due Diligence

SaaS

Merrill Corporation, a global provider of solutions designed to improve outcomes in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), today announced the launch of its new SaaS application for due diligence, Merrill DatasiteOne.

Created for the investment banking, legal, private equity and corporate development communities, DatasiteOne addresses the needs of today’s dealmakers as they conduct rapid, secure and compliant due diligence globally. Supported by Merrill’s industry leading service, DatasiteOne allows due diligence professionals to focus on deal execution, instead of the deal room.

Rusty Wiley, Chief Executive Officer of Merrill Corporation, said, “Merrill DatasiteOne is a major milestone for our company. Today, we are launching an innovative, market leading application to accelerate the due diligence process underpinned by a secure content sharing platform capable of supporting a much broader need for corporate and advisor collaboration. Our investment banking, private equity, and corporate clients have been deeply involved with the design of the new platform and have provided exceptional feedback on the performance, functionality and ease of use of our new DatasiteOne product.”

Merrill Corporation used direct customer input to design DatasiteOne. More than 1,200 client conversations with thousands of hours of observation were critical inputs into the development and design of the functionality, user experience and user interface of DatasiteOne. Merrill applied leading-edge design-thinking and innovation techniques supported by modern cloud-based development tools that map against the company’s proven ironclad security standards. Technology components that were used include innovative offerings from Microsoft, Pivotal, MongoDB, Teridion and others.

Jonathan Humphrey, Vice President, Private Equity, Bain Capital Private Equity, said: “Due diligence is a critical part of our daily operations, and we need to know that the technology we rely on is fast and easy to use, but also secure and tailored to our needs. Using Merrill DatasiteOne is very intuitive. And the same expert Merrill service that we’ve always been used to is still just a call or click away.”

DatasiteOne, built on traditional virtual data room (VDR) best practices, adds powerful permissioning, intuitive reporting functionality, highly secure user set-ups, exceptional speed in page load and search, and operational functionality that sets new benchmarks for fast and efficient user experiences on the buy- and sell-side of any capital transaction.

Merrill Chief Product Officer, Thomas Fredell, said, “We spent months talking to our client and non-client-base, essentially co-developing a new offering around the most complex due diligence needs. The DatasiteOne SaaS app is built using a modern microservices architecture with APIs built on scalable and agile cloud technology. This allows us to spin up minimal viable products in short sprint cycles and review them with our users and continuously iterate.”
