Policy Expert, the UK insurtech that provides home and motor insurance to over one million policyholders, has today announced the appointment, subject to regulatory approval, of Kevin Chidwick as Chief Financial Officer, harnessing over three decades of experience from major insurance brands including Admiral and Confused.com.

Kevin’s appointment follows the retirement of Paul Gildersleeves after a 40-year career in financial services, including ten years establishing Policy Expert as a profitable insurtech which ranks among the UK’s fastest growing and a top 10 UK home insurance providers by a number of customers.

Policy Expert has grown rapidly since 2011 by harnessing proprietary technology and advanced data analytics to disrupt the insurance status quo. Its model is built to deliver clear, transparent, and fairly priced home and motor insurance for over one million policyholders, backed by best-in-class customer service.

Having doubled its customer base in less than three years, the business announced in May 2022 that it has secured a six-year agreement with Accredited Insurance (Europe) Limited with a targeted capacity of £2bn in gross written premium to support further expansion.

Kevin brings over 35 years of experience across financial services. He was previously CFO of Aspen Insurance Group, a speciality lines insurer & reinsurer, and he has previously served as CFO of Admiral Group and CEO of Confused.com. His appointment will see him work closely with Steve Hardy, Executive Chairman of Policy Expert, and the rest of the Policy Expert executive team to drive the next stage of the business’ growth.
