Spendesk, the complete spend management platform, today announces the appointment of Axel Demazy as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Rodolphe Ardant, the company’s founder who previously held the title, remains President at the business, taking on a strategic advisory role. Together, Demazy and Ardant form a leadership duo with a short-term objective of achieving profitability.

As CEO, Demazy will be responsible for spearheading the company’s operations and day-to-day structuring. Meanwhile, Ardant will focus on product strategy and will continue to enrich Spendesk’s vision through his deep market knowledge, strong connections within the ecosystem, and commitment to a culture of  innovation.

Under Demazy and Ardant’s leadership, Spendesk remains dedicated to providing the most innovative spend management solution to meet the needs of SMBs, who are eager to optimise their spend.

Demazy previously served as a Partner at Boston Consulting Group. Before joining Spendesk, he was COO and General Manager at Jellysmack, a tech company specialising in multi-platform distribution of content from the world’s top video creators.

Axel Demazy, CEO of Spendesk, commented: “I am thrilled to join Spendesk as CEO. I have watched Spendesk’s growth from a French tech unicorn to a European leader in the corporate spend management space, and I am looking forward to helping drive this evolution further. My priority will be to lead operations with a clear goal: achieving profitability by 2025 while continuing our mission to provide ever more innovative solutions to our clients.”

Rodolphe Ardant, President and co-founder of Spendesk, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Axel Demazy to Spendesk. Together, we will shape the future of the company by combining industry knowledge, strong ties within the ecosystem, and a shared passion for innovation. I look forward to working closely with him to guide Spendesk towards its full maturity and strengthen our leadership position.”

The news follows Spendesk’s recent acquisition of Okko, a French company specialising in procurement management, and the development of Spendesk Financial Services, a licensed payment institution.
