Seaport Global Securities Expands its Equity Research Team with New Hires

Seaport Global Securities LLC is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its equity research team with the addition of four senior research analysts and three associate analysts. Collectively the group will be expanding Seaport Global’s equity research coverage by approximately 100 companies in the Airfreight & LogisticsRailroadsSurface Transportation,MaritimeNatural Gas UtilitiesCoalBuilding Products and Commercial & Home Furnishings sectors. Previously with BB&T Capital Markets, the team will establish a new branch office for Seaport Global in Richmond, VA.

Mark Levin joins as Managing Director and Senior Analyst and will focus on Railroads, Natural Gas Utilities and Coal. He brings 15 years of experience in equity research, covering industrials and natural resources sectors. He was previously a managing director and senior analyst at BB&T, which he joined in 2010. Prior to that, he was at Davenport & Company LLC for seven years and on the buy side at Dynamis Advisors LLC for two years. He began his career at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York City.

Matt McCall, CFA joins as Managing Director and Senior Analyst and will cover the Building Products and Commercial & Home Furnishings sectors. He brings 17 years of experience in equity research, covering industrials, consumer and technology sectors. He was previously a managing director and senior analyst at BB&T, which he joined in 2002. Prior to that, he spent three years at Wachovia Securities.

Kevin Sterling, CFA joins as Managing Director and Senior Analyst and will focus on the Airfreight & Logistics and Maritime sectors. He brings 11 years of experience in equity research, and 10 years of experience in the banking industry. He was previously a managing director and senior analyst at BB&T, which he joined in 2009. Prior to that, he was at Stephens Inc. for four years. He also spent seven years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and three years at Branch Bank and Trust Company and Wachovia Corporation.

Rhem Wood joins as Senior Vice President and Senior Analyst and will cover the Surface Transportation sector, including Trucks and Trucking. He brings 11 years of experience in equity research covering transportation. He spent nine years at BB&T and two years at Stephens Inc. Previously, he spent four years in consulting at the Huron Consulting Group and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He began his career at Bank of America.

Reuben Garner, CFA joins as Associate Analyst and will focus on the Building Products and Commercial & Home Furnishings sectors. He previously was an associate analyst at BB&T, which he joined in 2014. Prior to that, he was on the buy side at Pineno Levin & Ford Asset Management for four years.

William Horner joins as Associate Analyst and will focus on the Airfreight & Logistics and Maritime sectors. He previously was an associate analyst at BB&T, which he joined in 2011. Prior to that, he was at Stephens Inc. He began his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Nathan Martin joins as Associate Analyst and will focus on the Railroads, Natural Gas Utilities and Coal sectors. He previously was an associate analyst at BB&T, which he joined in 2012. Prior to that, he was in residential and wholesale lending at Sterns Lending Inc. and MetLife Home Loans. He began his career at Putnam Lovell NBF in investment banking focused on mergers & acquisitions.

These additions come on the heels of the firm’s August announcement regarding hiring nine senior salesmen and sales traders and two senior research analysts, and promotions of three senior analysts.
