PayU, the leading online payment service provider operating in over 50 high-growth markets, today announces the appointment of Shiri Schneider as Chief Technology Officer of its Global Payment Organisation.

With over 18 years of experience in technology and management, Shiri specialises in SaaS Cloud platforms, on-premises solutions, and big data. She has deep domain expertise in building complex systems, leading large-scale organisations, and using agile methodologies to enhance innovation across global teams. Shiri joined PayU in 2021 as Vice President of Global Engineering, where she successfully led teams of engineers in Colombia, Poland, Romania, Israel and South Africa. Prior to joining PayU, she served as Vice President of Engineering at Outseer, a market-leader in digital fraud prevention and customer authentication.

Shiri's experience and driven yet empowering leadership style have equipped her with the tools needed to successfully lead a team of 250 developers globally, ensuring the unification of goals and values as well as collaboration across international borders. Shiri will focus on cementing PayU’s culture of innovation and professionalism and enhance its position as a leading payments provider. In her new role, she will also prioritise maintaining PayU’s customer-first mindset - integral to creating a world without financial borders where everyone can prosper.

Shiri replaces Ronen Morecki, who served as Chief Technology Officer at PayU Global Payments for over 4 years. Ronen was also one of the co-founders of Zooz, an open payment processing platform founded in 2010 which was acquired by PayU in 2018.

Mario Shiliashki, CEO of PayU Global Payments, adds: “Welcoming Shiri to the role of Chief Technology Officer is an exciting moment for PayU. She is a collaborative and pragmatic leader and experienced in building complex technological systems. This is exactly what will be needed to drive the innovative technology behind our payment solutions. Furthermore, Shiri’s commitment to building a diverse working culture is imperative to our continued success in creating an equal and inclusive workplace.”

Being a fintech innovator, PayU develops solutions using cutting-edge technologies - such as online payments processing, local and multi-acquiring capabilities that enable access to global and local popular payment methods, payments routing optimization, the highest level of security for all their transactions, cross-border, and FX capabilities - to ensure merchants benefit from the highest approval rates possible and can optimally expand their global reach, regardless of their business scope. Shiri’s new role is centred on enhancing PayU’s tech stack and building its leadership as one stop solution for all payments needs.

Shiri Schneider, the new CTO at PayU Global Payments, comments: “As someone who is passionate about taking innovation to the next level, I’m absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of CTO at PayU. The payments landscape is evolving rapidly and that technological advancements are bringing new opportunities, especially in emerging markets. I look forward to taking advantage of these exciting developments to ensure that PayU continues to provide a best-in-class digital payments experience for our customers. With my global team of skilled developers, I hope to drive further growth and fulfil PayU's mission to create a world without financial borders”.
