Lauri Rosendahl Appointed Nasdaq Nordic and Stockholm New President

Nasdaq Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ) today announced that Lauri Rosendahl has been appointed President of Nasdaq Nordic and Nasdaq Stockholm.

Lauri Rosendahl has been with Nasdaq since 2009 as Senior Vice President and President of Nasdaq Helsinki.

“Lauri’s over 25 years of experience in the financial markets coupled with an exceptional leadership and management track record will serve Stockholm well as we continue to lead today’s dynamic exchange environment,” said Hans-Ole Jochumsen, President of Nasdaq.

”Lauri has contributed to Nasdaq’s strong leadership position in the Nordic region, and has overseen some of Nasdaq’s most important initiatives in the region during the past seven years, including several successful clearing and trading system launches. He has also been a driving force in Nasdaq’s sustainability work, which becomes increasingly important in our day-to-day operations.”

“I am excited to have been offered this opportunity,” said Lauri Rosendahl. “Through the Nasdaq Nordic exchanges, we allow savers to become investors and companies to raise capital, subsequently creating new jobs and economic growth. That is the core of what we do, and it is something I want to continue to develop in Sweden.”

Lauri Rosendahl will assume the positions on March 10, 2016. In addition to his new position Lauri will continue to lead Nasdaq’s European cash equities and equity derivatives business. He will step down from his current position as President of Nasdaq Helsinki, and will relocate from Helsinki to Stockholm.

Lauri Rosendahl has over 25 years of experience in the financial markets, having held several senior management positions within securities trading, equity research and investment banking with several banks and brokers including Deutsche Bank, ABN Amro/Alfred Berg, Carnegie and Kaupthing.

As previously communicated, the current President of Nasdaq Nordic, Magnus Billing, will leave Nasdaq to become the CEO of Alecta. In order to secure a smooth transition, Magnus Billing will remain with Nasdaq until the end of March 2016.
