Geoswift Appoints Michael Kireopoulos as Global Head of Compliance

 Geoswift, a leading provider of cross-border payments between China and the rest of the world, announced today that Michael Kireopoulos has joined the company as Global Head of Compliance. He is based in Geoswift’s San Francisco office.

As our company continues to grow and work with an increasing number of multinational corporations and global banks, our compliance and regulatory requirements become more complex,” said Raymond Qu, CEO, Geoswift. “We are confident Michael will install the processes and procedures Geoswift needs to meet the high level of compliance standards our clients have come to trust.”

As Global Head of Compliance, Mr. Kireopoulos is responsible for managing all facets of global compliance, with a specific focus on enhancing Geoswift’s global compliance network to safely facilitate secure and reliable payments throughout the world. Mr. Kireopoulos will provide leadership and guidance for a group of managers and staff to implement comprehensive compliance processes, which includes meeting anti-money laundering (AML) and money transmission regulatory standards. This ensures Geoswift’s transactions are fully compliant and processed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

In Mr. Kireopoulos’ 15 years working at Visa, he developed extensive experience leading the creation and implementation of company-wide compliance policies, procedures and oversight. Mr. Kireopoulos was also responsible for working on complex compliance issues and understanding the broad implications of product and service launches on Visa’s existing business lines, regional strategies and potential revenue impact. Prior to working at Visa, Mr. Kireopoulos held various compliance leadership positions at Franklin Templeton, Citigroup and the Federal Reserve Bank. Additionally, Mr. Kireopoulos holds a Master of Science degree from Notre Dame de Namur University and a Bachelor of Science degree from San Francisco State University.
