Ecommpay UK Chair Elected to the Payments Association Advisory Board

Inclusive global payments platform, Ecommpay, is proud to announce that the company’s Chief Compliance Officer & UK Chair, Willem Wellinghoff, has joined the Advisory Board of the Payments Association (PA). With more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, financial crime and technology, Willem brings to the role a unique legal and compliance perspective on payments and lending.

The Payments Association Advisory Board comprises 20 payments sector thought leaders, recruited to help steer and guide The Payments Association’s senior team. Members of the board share a desire to effect change to create a profitable, sustainable payments ecosystem.

Willem Wellinghoff has been a Regulatory Working Party member of the Payments Association and has played a key role in shaping its Manifesto. The expertise and insights Willem will bring to this new role will be invaluable as the Association evolves and responds to shifting regulatory requirements and scrutiny.

“I believe a strong, dedicated focus on payment regulation remains essential to safeguarding industry growth, consumer trust, and the UK’s position as a global leader in payments innovation,” Willem commented. “As the largest community in payments, The Payments Association holds an important role in future-proofing the industry.
