SME financier, Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed Daniel Johnson as Strategic IT Director as part of its growth strategy.

Daniel joins BFS with over 14 years’ experience in banking, fintech, insurance, and consulting. His most recent role was Founder and Director of Future Workforce, a consultancy specialising in AI, process automation, low-code and data analytics for clients, including the Home Office.

Prior to forming Future Workforce, Daniel held a series of senior IT and automation roles with Accenture, Close Brothers and The Co-operative Banking Group.

Daniel Johnson, Strategic IT Director at BFS, said: “BFS plays a vital role in supporting SMEs around the world, providing solutions to help customers grow and thrive in domestic and international markets. Furthermore, as a family-owned business, its values-based culture appealed to me. I’m delighted to join at such an exciting time and look forward to working with colleagues to build on the solid technology foundations we have in place to drive better outcomes for SMEs and our teams in 2025 and beyond.”

The announcement follows the appointment of Mark Holloway as Chief Information and Technology Officer in April, as part of BFS’s strategy to combine people and technology to grow its support for SMEs.

Speaking of Daniel’s appointment, Mark Holloway, Chief Information and Technology Officer at BFS, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Daniel at such an important time in our growth. Having recently joined BFS, I’ve been immensely impressed with the energy and dedication of our teams in supporting SME customers, and one another. Daniel’s appointment is testament to our ambition to drive growth through scalable technology delivered by dedicated teams. I look forward to introducing Daniel to colleagues and business partners alike over the coming weeks.”
