Akamai Appoints Ashutosh Kulkarni as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Web Experience Division

Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), the global leader in content delivery network (CDN) services, today announced the appointment of Ashutosh (Ash) Kulkarni as Senior Vice President & General Manager of the Company's Web Experience Division. 

Mr. Kulkarni will lead the Akamai team focused on technology and solutions for optimizing the next generation of Web and mobile experiences across a wide range of device types, browsers and network connections.  Akamai Web Performance solutions are designed to enable businesses to provide a fast, reliable and secure experience for consumers accessing their websites and applications.  Mr. Kulkarni will report to Rick McConnell, Akamai's President of Products & Development.  He will be based in Akamai's Santa Clara, California office.

Prior to Akamai, Mr. Kulkarni served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Informatica's Cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) businesses.  He has also held senior VP and GM roles at Informatica for Data Integration and Data Quality, and for Informatica's portfolio of emerging technology areas including Big Data, B2B, Ultra Messaging, Complex Event Processing (CEP), and Data Replication.

In addition to Informatica, Mr. Kulkarni also spent several years at Sun Microsystems in various product management and development roles where he was responsible for leading Sun's Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) initiative.

Mr. Kulkarni earned his Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Mumbai; his Master of Science from the University of Texas at Austin; and his Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
