Satchel.eu announces the launch of a partnership with the Plastics for Change initiative to prevent plastic pollution and support social change.

One of the main products of Satchel are plastic payment cards. The absence of an alternative material to make their production more sustainable made the company search for accessible ways to reduce its plastic footprint. To fulfill their commitment to preserving the planet Earth for the generations to come, Satchel has partnered with Plastics for Change. The strong focus of the initiative on supporting the people who live in economically disadvantaged areas, providing them with access to social identity, banking and health services, financial literacy training, and a better future, strongly resonates with the vision and values of Satchel.

“Working in the environment of financial technology and innovation, I believe we bear particular responsibility for driving social change and stopping the destructive mechanisms that have been killing our planet for decades. We are thankful for this partnership opportunity and cannot wait to do great things together with Plastics for Change,” says Sergey Barybin, co-founder and CEO of Satchel.

“The plastic crisis cannot be solved by any single organization, we need civil society, consumers, companies, non-profits, educators, all to come together to play our part in being solution providers. We’re therefore very pleased to partner with Satchel Marketing in bringing change and transformation to communities that need it the most”. Shifrah Jacobs, Chief Impact Officer, Plastics for Change.

The Plastics for Change story started with Andrew Almack’s journey through South Asia in 2011. Overwhelmed by the extreme poverty in the region and the audacious levels of plastic pollution began the journey of an "eco-label" which could represent ethically sourced recycled plastic, ultimately helping to reduce plastic pollution and poverty. Plastics for Change was launched with a mission to use plastic waste as a resource for addressing social issues ever since. With over two billion people living on less than $2.00 a day, there is an enormous opportunity to reduce poverty through recycling. The organization has been on a mission ever since - to bring recycling infrastructure to developing regions and creating jobs for some of the most marginalized members of society.
