  • Partnerships mark Openpay UK’s drive into the healthcare sector, as the company expands offering to new key verticals outside of retail
  • Responsible payment provider plans further diversification in 2022, including financing the transition to net zero

Openpay, the UK’s next generation, interest-free, buy now, pay smarter payment solution, has continued to deliver on its vertical diversification strategy with the announcement of multiple partnerships in the dental and veterinary markets. The deals further signify Openpay’s expansion beyond the retail sector, enabling customers to pay smarter for dental and veterinary care.

Working with integration partner Software of Excellence, Openpay has made significant progress within its new dental vertical, with over 93 dental practices now signed with Openpay throughout the UK and 45 already live.  This enables them to offer interest free, flexible payment plans to their customers, giving them an immediate solution to spread the cost of dental work, rather than pay the entire bill upfront.

Expanding further into the veterinary market, Openpay is also announcing new partnerships with Smart Vets and Knustford Vets. The deals follow Openpay’s first veterinary partnership with cloud-based practice management software platform, ezyVet, which was announced earlier this year. With vet bills potentially running into the thousands, Openpay’s proposition providing flexible payment plans, with no interest or hidden fees, puts pets and their owners first.

As part of a strong focus on responsible spending and commitment to opening up verticals that enable the purchase of things customers need, Openpay is also exploring ways to play a role in financing the transition to net zero. Plans include providing interest-free split payments on different ‘green’ options, from loft insulation to at-home EV charging points, and even new low-carbon heating systems.  Openpay is currently in discussion with a number of regional partners to explore implementation.

Georgina Whalley, UK CEO & Group CMO, Openpay, said:“Our rapid expansion into dental and veterinary mark significant milestones for Openpay in the delivery of our strategy to expand into multiple verticals in the UK. Knowing our responsible payment plans can play a part in helping consumers spread the cost of important health procedures for them and their loved ones is something we are very proud of. We look forward to expanding our services beyond health into net zero to help the government achieves its ambitious net zero targets.”
