Nubank announces the launch of tap-to-pay Pix, a new feature that integrates NFC technology into the app to simplify in-person payments. The solution offers customers an even more agile way to use Pix, eliminating the need to scan QR codes. To use it, customers must simply have a Pix key registered with Nubank.

Starting today, the new feature will be gradually rolled out to individual customers with Android systems. With Nubank’s tap-to-pay Pix, users will be able to make payments on any enabled point-of-sale (POS) terminal, choosing between paying with their available account balance or credit, in up to 12 installments.

For even greater convenience, Nubank offers the option to create a shortcut for tap-to-pay Pix directly on your phone’s home screen. Simply access the “Pix” or “Pay” section in the app, select “tap-to-pay Pix,” and click the “Settings” icon to add the shortcut.

The payment experience is simple and fast: with the Nubank app (or the “Tap-to-Pay Pix” shortcut) open, just bring your phone close to the POS terminal. The payment screen appears automatically, and confirmation is done via biometrics or a four-digit password, ensuring transaction security.

Nubank’s tap-to-pay Pix inherits the high security standards already implemented in Pix and throughout the Nubank ecosystem, including customizable “Street Mode” limits and transactional limits within the Pix Area.

How to make a tap-to-pay Pix with Nubank:

Check NFC: Ensure your Android phone has NFC technology and that it is enabled in your device’s settings.

Tap and Pay: With the “Pix” option selected on the POS terminal, open the Nubank app (or the “Tap-to-Pay Pix” shortcut) and bring your phone close.

Choose Payment Method: Select whether to pay with your account balance or use your credit card limit.

Pay in Installments (if desired): If you choose credit, select the desired number of installments and view the total purchase amount, including interest rates and IOF tax, when applicable. Payments with account balance have no additional fees.
