Ingenico Group (Euronext FR0000125346 – ING), the global leader in seamless payment, today announced that the National Bank of Australia (NAB), a major Australian bank, has launched  Ingenico’s Web app Marketplace, allowing to deploy business services to NAB’s terminal estate.

The Marketplace is a secure and dedicated platform that will allow NAB’s merchant customers to select and purchase any Web app useful to develop their business and create new consumer experiences at the checkout. It is now live in Australia and accessible to an open community of developers and publishers who can promote their Web app portfolio for merchants to choose from, increase consumer engagement and create new revenue streams.

NAB is now managing its own Web app store that is fully adapted to their estate of 70K Ingenico latest generation Tetra terminals. The Move/5000 is Ingenico’s high-end portable payment terminal compatible with our suite of services. Its rich user interface seamlessly integrates secure payment and business apps to create new experiences for consumers and merchants alike. It supports all Australian payment methods and is designed for payment at the counter or on the go, and can be integrated into a checkout solution at large retailers.

We are pleased that NAB has chosen our Marketplace solution, allowing to manage both payment and business applications on our smart POS and enhancing NAB’s product offering to merchants. The Bank’s merchant clients will now be able to pick and choose Web apps that meet their specific business needs and, in turn, create new experiences increasing consumer engagement in-store. NAB has been an extremely valuable partner in introducing this unique solution into Australia”, said Sal Ridulfo, Banks & Acquirers Managing Director for Ingenico Australia.

We’re excited to offer an enhanced portfolio of value-added business applications to our customers, and promote the creativity and innovation of a growing community of Web app developers,” NAB Executive General Manager of Deposit and Transaction Services, Rachel Slade, said.
