MYPINPAD, a global leader in payments software authentication solutions, today announced a significant appointment to its leadership team, Neal Hindocha joining as Chief Security Officer (CSO).

Hindocha has a 20-year career background in international IT security, working in research, product development, network security, consulting services and management.

The multilingual management consultant will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of security compliance for MYPINPAD’s products, which encompass both merchant and consumer solutions. He will also play a key role in setting the firm’s security vision, evolving strategy and policies for its ongoing product development.

MYPINPAD solutions delivers secure PIN authentication on unsecured electronic devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and PCs. The solution optimises security around the payment process, reducing risk and fraud. The technology provides consumers and merchants with a familiar and trusted PIN authentication process.

Global Head of Mobile POS Solutions at MYPINPAD, David Poole, said: “This is a defining time for the business following the release of PCI SSC’s new standard for software-based PIN entry on mobile devices for card payment acceptance. The standard will revolutionise payments, increase global card acceptance and mitigate fraud. Importantly, it will reduce barriers to entry for all merchants.

Strong authentication is the root of our security solutions, and Neal’s expertise is exactly what we need during this crucial period. He will help us to continue to set the highest standards of security across MYPINPAD software authentication solutions.”

Regarding his new role, Mr Hindocha said: “MYPINPAD was founded in 2012 by an alliance of payments industry leaders, and has since been delivering on its mission to become the world’s first consumer authentication company to solve multi-channel security with PIN. I am pleased to join the business at such a significant time, not just for MYPINPAD, but for the wider payments industry. I will be focused on ensuring that our products continue to enable the strongest authentication and security processes in a rapidly evolving digital space.”

This month MYPINPAD launched its MPES (MYPINPAD’s PIN Entry Solution) product, aligning with the release of PCI SSC’s new standard for software-based PIN entry on mobile devices for card payment acceptance. MPES has been developed to enhance and expand the current mPOS market offering to meet the growth in card acceptance points. It is a software-based PIN pad solution that securely enables PIN authentication on merchants’ mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, as an alternative to traditional mPOS hardware-based solutions.

MYPINPAD’s MPES technology has recently been integrated into Datecs’ (a leading manufacturer and developer of innovative POS hardware Secure Card Readers) Bluelite Secure Card Reader (SCR) to provide merchants with a low cost, PCI compliant PoM payment acceptance solution.
