Five FinTech start-ups make it to the Payments Dragons' Den final at PayExpo 2015

Five exciting new payment start-ups have reached the final for the 2015 Dragons' Den contest at PayExpo. The highly anticipated competition, which received record entries this year, is the ideal platform for emerging companies looking to present their innovative ideas and game-changing payments technologies to a global market.

The 2015 Payments Dragons' Den finalists are:

xWare42 - a software developer whose core product, xPay, allows banks to give customers additional information about their purchases.

SOLO - a virtual POS that allows any merchant to accept credit and debit card payments without having to swipe the card through a physical device, as the traditional POS does.

Ensygnia - a secure transaction engine and Onescan mobile app that work in combination to drive applications in identity management, advanced security systems, mobile payments and loyalty programmes. 

Yen - a mobile payments app that integrates with a person’s phone book and enables them to securely pay their contacts using a debit or credit card.

Zapit Pay - provides a global mobile-mobile currency transfer capability via SMS using Ripple cryptocurrency technology.

It will be a hotly anticipated contest as previous winners have gone on to receive crucial funding from investors and venture capitalists at the exhibition.  The competition is held in partnership with StartupbootcampFinTech, a leading business accelerator focused on financial innovation, and the overall winner will be considered for a place on the company's accelerator programme.

Under the rules of the contest each start-up company that has reached the final will now be given the opportunity to put forward their pitch, answering questions and demonstrating their products and services in front of the Dragons’ Den judging panel made up of senior payment expertsMike Laven, Chief Executive Officer of Currency Cloud; Mark Beresford, Director of Edgar, Dunn & Company; David Parker, Founder and CEO at Polymath Consulting; Brian Dunne, Managing Director of SVM Europe Ltd and President, IMA Europe and

The Payments Dragons’ Den final will take place at 16:10 on Tuesday 9 June at PayExpo 2015 at ExCeL London. The winner will be announced at16.00 on Wednesday 10 June by Rasmus Groth, Founder, Veridu.com and winner of the 2014 Payments’ Dragons Den.
